Stock Market Highlights
On Wednesday, the domestic equity market indexes BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 finished in bullish territory.
The S&P BSE Sensex rose 740 points, or 1.28 percent, to close at 58,683, while the NSE Nifty 50 index rose 173 points, or 1%, to 17,498.
The Bank Nifty index rose 1.38 percent to 36,334 points.
The uptrend was echoed by broader markets, although India VIX finished in the red.
The biggest Sensex gainer on Wednesday was Bajaj Finserv, which rose 3.52 percent, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra and Bajaj Finance.
ITC, Tata Steel, and Tech Mahindra were the worst-performing stocks, falling 2.18 percent each.
