Stock Market Highlights
On the basis of geopolitical concerns, domestic equities market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 closed in the red for the fifth straight day on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex sank 383 points, or 0.7%, to 57,300, while the Nifty 50 index fell 114 points, or 0.7%, to 17,092.
Tata Steel was the worst performer on the BSE Sensex, down 3.7 percent, followed by TCS, SBI, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, ITC, and Bharti Airtel. Bajaj Finserv, on the other hand, was the top Sensex gainer.
Among the top index leaders were M&M, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Housing Development Finance Corporation, and Sun Pharma. All of the five sectoral indexes finished in the red.
In today’s trading, the Bank Nifty was down about 1%.

Share worth Rs. 3,245.52 Crore were Net sold by Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs), whereas shares worth Rs. 4,108.58 Crore was the net bought by Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) on February 22.
