Stock Market Highlights
On the day of the weekly F&O expiry, domestic equity market indexes finished in the red.
The BSE Sensex ended the day 237 points down at 58,338.93.
The Nifty 50 index finished 54 points down at 17,475 points. The BSE Sensex began nearly 300 points higher, but in the second portion of the day, the markets reversed direction.
ITC, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and State Bank of India were the top performances on the BSE Sensex.
Housing Development Finance Corporation, HDFC Bank, and Maruti Suzuki India were the worst losses on the benchmark index. The volatility index in India declined 2.05 percent to 17.79 points.
