Stock Market Highlights
On Wednesday, a day before weekly F&O expiry, the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 closed in the green for the second day in a row.
The BSE Sensex finished 1223 points higher, or 2.3 percent higher, at 54,647.33, while the NSE Nifty 50 index finished 332 points higher, or 2.07% higher, at 16,345, defying the Russia-Ukraine war.
Asian Paints, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), and Bajaj Finance were among the top Sensex gainers, with gains of over 5%, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra and IndusInd Bank, all of which gained 5%.
On the other hand, companies such as Power Grid Corporation of India, NTPC, Tata Steel, and Nestle India all closed the year in the red. The Nifty Media index increased by more than 4%, while the Nifty Realty index increased by more than 3%.
