Stock Market Highlights
On Tuesday, after a big gain the day before, domestic leading indexes experienced some profit taking.
The S&P BSE Sensex fell 435 points, or 0.72 percent, to 60,176 points, while the Nifty 50 index down 96 points, or 0.53 percent, to 17,957 points.
The highest gainer on the BSE Sensex was NTPC, which rose 3.4 percent, followed by Power Grid Corporation, ITC, and Titan.
The biggest loser was HDFC Bank, which fell 2.98 percent, followed by Bajaj Finserv and HDFC.
On the closing bell, the Bank Nifty index was down in the red, while broader markets were up.
The India VIX rose 18 points, or 3.24 percent.
